Seattle in 38 Hours

Did you know that Seattle, Tacoma and other major cities in Washington were named after Native American Chiefs? It’s true! You can Google each of them, but I found out through my friends Princess and Chow when I visited them and their 9-month old son, Lucas in a “spur of the moment” decision to buy a plane ticket to Seattle.

Well, the decision to buy a ticket was spur of the moment, but I bought the ticket all the way back in November. But, anyways… I went, but only for a weekend. I arrived late Friday evening and left sorta early on Sunday morning. Saturday was a whirlwind of a day driving around seeing waterfalls and visiting Pike’s Marketplace.
IMG_9101Ever heard Chief Snoqualmie? Well, I haven’t either, but he has a waterfall named after him.
Pretty?
It was very peaceful up there… and very green!

We walked around Pike’s Marketplace. I really love those open markets where you can buy stuff like fish or meat or flowers or fruit.
IMG_9172Say hi to Ryan!
Have you ever seen footage of people throwing fish at each other in Seattle? They had a shot of that in the movie “Sleepless in Seattle”.
Watch out, though! They throw seafood around QUICK! You see that person in red in the bottom photo? Yeah! She (or he) almost got hit with that bag of clams!!

IMG_9208These little donuts are pretty popular in the marketplace. There was a line when we came around.
It was neat because the donuts are made right in front of you and you get them all hot! I almost burned my fingers touching them. They’re light and sugary.
But, i’ll be honest, I was expecting more flavor. But, when in Seattle…

We returned back to Chow & Princess’ place after a long and cold day of walking! We were all tired. After watching a movie on the Lifetime Network, I fell asleep on the couch…
I knew in about 12 hours I’d be heading back to LA.

IMG_9508I wish this photo came out clearer, but I thought this little kid was sooo cute!
He was actually running the wrong way on the conveyor-belt thingy at the Sea-Tac Airport when he met up with this man. It’s hard to see, but look at his smile. :)

Before I leave, I wanna talk to you guys about another chief in Washington.
Chief Charlie Swan of the Forks, WA police department.
He’s Bella’s dad… and I love him! Not as much as I love Edward Cullen, but still!
It’s Twilight, folks. I just LOVE those books!

LOL. You know what’s funny?
My dad was watching “Twilight” this weekend. heehehe…
