Sushi Studio

Whenever people ask for my opinion on where to get good sushi, I always recommend Sushi Studio in Long Beach. Paulette and Michelle took me here a few years ago and I totally fell in love with their combination of delicious and exotic rolls.
Sushi Studio has a sister restaurant called I Luv Sushi. Ate, me and Jack went there when we found out that Sushi Studio had closed down for a bit because it got burned down. Although the rolls and dishes are basically the same, for some reason I really love Sushi Studio! It’s a bit further away from our house than I Luv Sushi, but I definitely don’t mind taking a trip down there.

The only weird thing about Sushi Studio is that it’s located in the same parking lot as a motel. It’s not even a huge motel either. It’s a small one, so you’re really fighting for a parking space! You’ll most likely have to park across the street and run over to the restaurant!

This what we ordered, although not all is shown.
Missing: miso soup, salad and seaweed salad.
Baby Octopus: squishy little things. I don’t like eating those, but my sister and bro love it! I don’t like eating heads off any creature! Not shrimp, not chicken, not octopus! Bleh!
Broiled Yellow Tail Collar: I didn’t want to eat this because i’m not very big on fish, but my sister made me try some and I enjoyed it!! It was very meaty and didn’t have a fishy taste!! This is an entree so it came with miso soup, rice and salad.
Sexy Girl: This is the one I fell in love with when I came here with Paulette and Michelle. Shrimp tempura and jalapeno inside wrapped with mango and topped with sweet and spicy sauce, masago, green onions and crunchy flakes.
Rhythm & Blues: seared, seasoned tuna topped with the chef’s special dressing.
I Love Sushi Studio Sashimi Platter: Chef’s choice sashimi platter. Served with miso soup, rice and salad.
Sunset on Second Street (another one of Paulette & Michelle’s choices): Spicy shrimp, crab and avocado inside, wrapped with tuna on the outside and served with the Chef’s special sauce.

I was stuffed when we finished eating! My favorites were the Sexy Girl and the R&B.
The prices were okay, ranging from $6-$19, depending on what you wanted to get.
They have a Hour Happy where selected items are cheaper depending on the day.
If you eat here for dinner, try to go early because this place is tiny and it gets packed! Sushi Studio is a really popular and happening eatery!!

I LOVE going here and think you all should go here, too!!

  1. Irms,
Might I suggest you give the following place a try.

    Chiba
    11713 Saticoy St
    North Hollywood, CA 91605
    (818) 765-9119

This place has put all other Sushi places I have been to shame. It is quite pricey but the Sushi is simply put AMAZING.
